Tax Center 2026
Tax Season Tip - Get Organized in 2026!
Hunting for receipts and tax-related documents in desk corners, bags and pockets is not the best way to start your tax preparation. Here are some ideas for getting organized to make this tax season a little less taxing.
-
Switch to electronic statements (email us for help!)
-
Scan important documents and receipts
-
Organize documents into clear categories
-
Backup important files to an external flash drive, hard drive or encrypted location in the cloud
-
Find recent tax returns to see how you filed last year, and identify potential changes for this year
-
If your forms are being mailed rather than delivered digitally, please allow up to 10 days from the mailing date for them to arrive.

We calculate this year's RMD from your balance as of Dec 31st 2025 and work to make sure you meet this requirement by the end of the year.
-
As a note, you have until April 15th the year FOLLOWING the year you turn 73 to take your RMD. However, we usually suggest not waiting until then. If you are turning 73 this year, make an appointment with us to discuss the best strategy for you!
Important Note on Roth IRA Conversions
Beginning with the 2018 tax year, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act eliminated the ability to recharacterize (undo) Roth IRA conversions. Once you convert a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA, the conversion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
